Adjustor: The responsible company employee who manages and resolves claims related to damages or losses that occur during the moving process, ensuring customers are compensated fairly.

Average Transit Time: The general expected time frame it takes for goods to be delivered from the origin to the destination point, factoring in distance and logistics.

Bill of Lading: A contract and receipt issued by the moving company to the customer, signifying the goods have been received and loaded onto the carrier. This document also outlines the terms and conditions for transportation.

Binding / Non-Binding Estimate: A binding estimate provides a fixed price based on declared items and services, ensuring no surprises. A non-binding estimate, however, is an approximation based on expected weight and services and may be adjusted based on the actual weight or service changes.

Booking Agent: The individual or company responsible for registering and coordinating the move. They do not necessarily have to be near the origin or destination.

Cargo: Refers to the items or goods being transported by the moving company, whether by truck, van, or another method of transport.

Carrier: The company or individual that takes responsibility for the transportation of goods from the origin to the destination.

Common Carrier: A transportation service provider that offers their services to the general public, regulated under a government license or authority.

Concealed Damage: Damage that is not visible on the outside of the package but is discovered when the goods are unpacked.

Concealed Loss: Loss or damage that is not detectable until the package is opened and inspected.

Consignee: The individual or company receiving the shipment or delivery at the destination address.

Consignor: The individual or company sending the shipment from the origin location.

ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival): The expected time frame when the shipment is anticipated to arrive at the destination.

Exclusive Use: A service option where the customer requests that only their shipment be transported in the vehicle, ensuring that no other shipments share the same space.

Extra Pickup/Delivery: Additional charges for stops or extra pickups and deliveries beyond the initial destination or origin point.
